Help with distributor swap

I am looking to replace my 86 4.9L distributor with an older points one ... can't adjust the computer like a set of points ... if yours has points I would be interested in a purchase. As far as Your swap ... Can't help you there ... Carl

If I have a points dist I would get Pertronix Performance Products setup. A few wires to hook up and you are done.

DuraSpark electronic ignition introduced in 1974, but not all FoMoCo vehicles came with it until 1976.

You need the harness, module, coil and distributor.
A bypass wire from the 'I' terminal of the fender mounted starter relay, and a coil resistor (ballast or wire)
Jim'sRebel has some great pictures of the DSII installation on the I-6.
