Another 628 code problem
Recently swapped the 5.0L for a 5.8L. Problem I'm having is the trans doesn't want to shift into 3rd. When accelerating in 2nd to the point you would expect the up shift to 3rd, letting up on the accelerator rpms drop and it sounds like it shifted but when you try to accelerate the engine revs. Letting off the accelerator and coasting trans sounds like it engages 2nd. Sometimes the OD light on the gear selector will flash.
Checked the codes and initially got a PIP code and 628. Cleared the codes and only got 628. Over the weekend cleared codes drove it, no codes, no OD light flashing ,and no 3rd shift.
Trans was rebuilt with new TC 40k miles ago, but during the engine swap The TC stuck to the flex plate and hit the ground from about 3 ft.
