If you mean the grey plug pictured below with the black test connector, the grey plug is the self-test input trigger.
That’s the main wire harness and there’s a plug that goes up towards the center dash. The truck runs fine without it but I want to make sure before I cut out all the loose old wires.

With out tracing wire diagrams or following them to their termination no way to know. When pulling the EEC harness out cut the ECU plug off open the harness about 6" inside the engine compartment and start pulling out cut wires work down the harness till you have all the cut wires removed from the engine. You can then rewrap whats left.
