I have the power running boards and just in front of the seat is a grommet in the floor.

This is inside the cab just in front of the seat. Wire is coming from the harness in the door sill.

This is the underside of the same grommet. I fished the wire through and just re-taped everything.

Only when you open and close the door. The come on when you unlock with remote or open the door and fade to off after the door closes.

FWIW - after cleaning the surface, I wiped all of it down with alcohol wipes. It’s been three years in all kinds of weather and it hasn’t pulled away anywhere.
