Adding LED strip lighting question

Or I could see if ford has it...this connector is for lighting the steps and yes it goes on and off with the lock / unlock settings

I have them mounted but I dont expect them being hooked up for a while.. here is where I ordered them from

I ordered 2 - 6ft /white....which should work good. If I did it again, I would order the 8ft ones..that would cover the whole underside of cab and cut the excess off. I will post pics when its completed

Make sure to spend a little more and get LED strips with genuine 3M VHB tape, or apply your own 3M VHB. Surface prep is very important as well. When installing mine i used nearly a whole roll of paper towels and wiped down the same area multiple times with denatured alcohol to make sure it was 100% clean. Then apply and make sure to use full pressure on every single inch, multiple times.

Bringing up an old thread wanted to see what people were doing for underbody lighting that did not have these plugs on the frame. I got a new 2021 platinum F450 and they do not have these plugs. I’ve searched everywhere either they’re no longer available or they relocated them. so what wires do I tap into to allow them to come on when you open the door?

Yes remove the sill plate. My 17 Platinum had the light up sills and the harness on the frame. I assume the harness is for light up sills but it works perfectly for the under cab led lights. Just installed them last week on the new truck.
