Good morning, I have recently purchased a new ford truck and am in need of some help. The seller said it is a 1951 F2 and the VIN says it is a 1952 F3 either one is fine with me I just bought it as a driver. Could anyone please help me verify what I have? I just want to be able to order the correct parts. thank you. John
As you mentioned, the serial number does show it to be a F-3. The differences between the 2 & 3 models was all about the rear springs to my knowledge. Engine components are all shared with the F-1s.

I believe brakes, wheels and tires are also different. Im thinking 51 because FORD letters are not on the front

I'm not an expert on 51 and 52 Ford trucks but doesn't the serial number on the data plate say it's a 52 model? The serial number starts with F3F2. Doesn't that say it's a 52? But the hood front has 51 trim....
You are correct about the 52F3 serial number. will need to check the frame for the original serial number. The glovebox lid may have been changed from a different truck (the scuffs and scratches say the tag is original to the lid).
Frame stamps are fairly light and should be up front near the motor mount crossmember - guys here report either side but most are on the passenger side.
The front sheetmetal is 51 as the guys have noted. Not unusual for pieces to have changed places after 70 years. Most people wouldn't know the difference.
One other interesting note - the Maine truck was assembled in St Paul, MN. It has traveled some.

Thanks I thought the same. I will take a look for the stamp. Seller said it was in WA state for the last 10 years prior to ME and 16 years in AZ prior to WA. So yes I think she has been around.
