Had the motor out for about 4 months to rebuild it. Never thought to pull the TC. Had an off and on rattling and whooshing sound coming from bellhousing after reinstalled. Motor runs great. Just had a new TC put in. Still have same problems. It shifts fine in all gears. I assumed i damaged the TC leaving all that weight just hanging there. But, now wondering if there was more damage done, and where to start looking. It ONLY makes this noise when in gear. I am not a transmission savvy guy. So any help is appreciated!
Thanks
Bumping this thread. Can anyone point me where to look. Truck runs great, shifts great. Just a weird whirring/slight grinding noise. Seems to come from transmission area. I could be wrong. But, it is definitely a rotational noise if that makes sense.
Thanks
I don't believe so. If you are talking about the small metal plate in front of TC, bottom of bell housing, that is still sitting on my shop floor. Lol.
It is not a constant sound either. Comes and goes. I will be checking all my pulleys this week as well. I know how sound can travel. Only oddity, is when I replaced the TC, the rattling went away. Not this sound, which leads me down the path of transmission area. But, it just runs and shifts so damn well!
