I have a 1996 F-450 with DANA 80 axle, 8x37 ratio, 4.63 and 37 splines. The VSS is on the rear axle. The truck has a Ford 2WD E4OD transmission. I am going to remove the rear axle to install an International 2006 with 22.5 rings and an ALLISON AT545 transmission so I must now use the VSS of this transmission .. Can you guide me on how to connect the VSS of the AT545 to the harness of this PoerStroke
The only transmission on earth thats ranks worse than a E40D and that's a AT545! Absolutely a terrible transmission and forget about engine braking down hill. Your truck also has a 4x4 transmission, the parking brake bolts up where the transfer case should be. How do you plan on actuating the brakes on the axle? Those are 1.75" cylinders with 15x4 brake shoes.

descending is not a problem, I have an exhaust brake installed, and the ALLISON AT 545 has a parking brake drum. the axle is a 17060S with Disc brakes, like the DANA 80.
AT545 does NOT have a locking torque converter, so the engine is revving high all the time, = sucking fuel. Plus, it's only a 4 speed transmission.
Yes the OP doesn't understand the AT545 is known to shear the turbine in the torque converter on grades. The exhaust brake is no help in that situation. These transmissions are also programmed to upshot even when low gear is selected. The OP should find the right class 6 truck for his task.

I've owned two of those transmissions. My first and my last, which were both the same transmission. lol
At545 is non lock and no overdrive. The tv is mechanical and not electric. All in all this just isn't a swap I would ever do. Even my old Cummins project got the 545 swapped for an allison 1000 with a #2 bell.
