I'd like some help in decoding a vin number for a 1967 mercury truck that I'm interested in purchasing. The number is F25YCAB4099. Can you also obtain owner history through the vin?
thanks in advance
Welcome to the forum! You might be able to do a title search thru your (CA) DMV to find the previous owner(s). By just the first couple of numbers, you have a F250. Some of the other guys will be able to fill in the rest of the info.

F25 = F250 2WD
Y = 352 2V (1966/67)
C = Oakville Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.
AB 4099 = Decodes to the year/month truck was assembled, but this cannot be correct, because the first digit is a letter followed by 5 numbers.
You can get a copy of your original build sheet from martiauto.com for a fee by passing along your VIN...once it's corrected.
