Sometimes when I am travelling along. come to a stop sign, stop quickly (stopping to be legal)& hit it hard again to proceed; the engine stumbles as though it is fuel starved (kind of like a carburated vehicle!!).
Is this a typical ICV issue?? FYI Dealer "fixed" when new (electronically?). now it is back.

Mine does this on occasion, but very infrequently and has never completely died in three years time so I don't worry about it too much. Especially since it is such an infrequent event. On the other hand, I had a '98 Mountaineer that stalled many many times when accelerating from stop signs. I had it in the shop 6 or 8 times for the problem and they never found it.....said since there were no codes, there wasn't a problem. I always replied that I just wanted everything to be documented so when I was killed because of a faulty vehicle, my wife and kids would be set for many lifetimes. Got rid of it and got into my Expy.
Hopefully somebody has had this diagnosed correctly.
I've had that happen twice (in 2 years). I know the feeling - your stomach drops, the same way it does when you're speeding and you see a State Trooper. Then everything's ok again.
I have no idea what it is, but I'm not gonna worry about it since it happens so infrequently.
My 98 Expedition that I just bought does this one second stall about twice a month. The only thing that I have noticed so far it that it happens when I have 1/8 of a tank of gas. I should have about 9 gallons left as I have five gallons left when the trip computer say 0 miles. I changed the fuel filter with no change.

Hey Rangedog,
How'd you know you have 5 gals. left when trip computer says 0? Is this a standard thing or did you just trial and error?
