Have any of you replaced the old bench seat in an older truck? I'd like to put something in that has a chest belt and a head rest. I know there are all sorts of solutions out there and you sort of have to combine your luck with salvaging seats with your welding an fabrication skills.
I'm not looking for a step-by-step here, just if you have done it or seen someone replace theirs I would be interested to hear how you went about it.

just search the forum, there are a few threads out there of ppl using this and that to replace beat up bench seats.
Some are drop in, some require some fabbing.
I replaced the factory bucket seats in my 1985 F-250 with bench seats from a 1994 F-250 (same color interior). All I had to do was drill 4 new holes for each seat into the floor (and carpet) but that was it. They actually fit my floors well, no need to fabricate any mounts or modify the seats in any way.
The seats from the 94 truck are way better than my factory seats, much better cushion and I sit a lot higher in the truck than before. I am sure you could make any seats work though.
