Hey guys, I have a Stock 2007 4.2L V6 but I was thinking of modding it a bit & seeing whats the most horsepower you could get out of these before upgrading Internals ? The previous owner added the wheels & added a air ride suspension in the rear but I'm getting new wheels, tires, suspension & adding a exhaust. ( Picture added)
OK, the best advice you have gotten so far is to sell your running, desireable 2007 and buy something with more beans.
I did search this forum for supercharger installations. Apparently it's a no go on the 4.2 unless you bring heads over too due to the valve order on the 4.2 vs. the 3.8.
But there are a ton of these out there, and I also found what might be an answer.

yeah I knew about super six motorsports, found them while looking for a new throttle body & honestly was thinking of doing a whole engine swap for one of theirs cause now I gotta find headers for my truck but don't know if I get them from a mustang would they fit ?
Doubtful Mustang headers will work in a truck. Steering components and the height of the engine relative to the floor pan.
I'm not finding headers for the F150 with a 4.2 V6.
Shorty headers for a 3.8 were the closest, but I think they may not fit the engine due to port locations.
As for a whole engine, they show $9500!! Plus installation and all the other little things that will come with it.
Your truck and $9500 would most likely get you a newer truck with more beans. As a bonus, it would start, run and you could get parts for it.
Serving suggestion.
might just drive this bitch until the motor pops or until the wheels fall off, but appreciate & yeah I'm a just look for a foxbody & see if anyone will trade it for my truck & I'll through cash on top cause it's still a great work truck
