I just bought this truck, it had been in an incident and the curtain bags deployed. All that fixed up, it's been running fine driving around the yard. A few days ago it wouldn't start, cranked and cranked. I stopped and tried again and it fired right up. Today same thing but trying again didn't work. I realized that the low pressure pump wasn't running, started checking fuses and they're all good. the Fuel pump "fuse" is actually a diode and I tried ohming it out but have no idea how to really test it. It would read across one way and not the other as I am to believe is how it is supposed to work. I stuffed it back in and went to try it and no pump so I immediately turnec the key off and back on and the pump worked and it fired up.
I took it for a drive and when I got back same thing, no pump with key. Checked the emergency shutoff on the passenger side but it didn't make a difference. Is there a way to test these diodes? I tried stuffing a fuse in just to try it but it's got a tab on it to prevent that exact thing.
Any guesses? Places to start checking?

Maybe try a new diode? What could possibly go wrong? LOL
That is next on the list. This was Saturday of a long weekend, the truck needs a safety and an alignment before Thursday afternoon so I've been trying to figure out if that is the actual problem or if it is something deeper.
