Getting ready to do a big back window conversion. How many of ya fill in the cab to roof seam, plus other seams like side cowl, front fender to gravel pan?
I would say if you are going to fill them in you have to weld the seams first.
If you just use body filler over time with road vibration it will crack and fall out.
I have not done that on any thing of mine but that is not my thing but they say its your truck build it as you wish.

I welded in my seams first. But that is the look I wanted. I agree with Dave, the filler will not stick around. Slow and steady with the welder though. Just tacks.
It is strictly a matter of taste. As far as HOW to do it, I am sure that whoever is doing the BBW conversion is skilled enough to fill seams. Here is a cab I did some time ago where the owner wanted the seams filled and vents and drip rails removed and a smooth firewall. Lots of work but if that fits your tastes then dig deep, it ain't cheap.
