Hello All. Hoping NumberDummy can jump in here and help. I'm having trouble finding a decoder for the big trucks data plate. I'd like to break down whatever info I can from the 2 tags in the pic. I recently came across this old C600 sitting not far from my house. Tracked down the owner and have made a deal for her. He is rounding up keys and title. I hope to resurrect it and make a hauler for my tractor and occasionally old ford trucks that I work on. Supposedly driven to its current location and parked due to brake issues 15-20 years ago. See below for the ID tags I was able to get from it. I have a couple questions. The current owner said they swapped the rear end out to give it better highway speed, so I'm imagining the Axle info on the data plate is irrelevant now. Is there a tag on big truck axles like there is on the light duty ones that I could use to track down parts? Also, the WB says 99, but It's very obvious that its more than 99 inches. I didn't see obvious signs of frame stretching or anything either, so how can I tell for sure whats going on? Thanks in advance!

Your first image is of the truck. It appears you may have widowmaker wheels on that, unless they are tubeless. Others have a better eye for wheels, but if there is no locking ring, and they are tube-type, it's a safe bet they are widowmakers. You can find more on that in this forum.
The second image is the Ford warranty plate.
The third image is the body maker plate attached by whoever put the bed on the truck. Nothing there to tell you anyting about the truck other than when they put the bed on.

From your post it sounds like at least the WB does not match and you have a different axle. Hard to believe a truck painted red as OEM would end up black--seems like you just wouldn't buy it if you had to do a repaint. So maybe the door got replaced, and they left the old plate on it? Check the VIN against the title and registration, and look for the VIN on the frame near the RF wheel. You will need to search that area and probably need a wire brush as well.
If you see anything else that does not match, let me know and I will check again.
Thanks guys. I met him again yesterday. Paid him and got the title. I'll go pick it up as soon as I get time. The title says its a 1977 Ford C60. Vin on the title matches both tags I posted. All indications are the truck is original. I don't see even a spec of red anywhere on it. Weird that you said it has a red paint code. This guy I got it from bought it in 1984 from the original owner. The title I got is the 1984 title. He has not painted it since he has had it and he says it was just like you see it now when they bought it in 1984. I haven't checked the frame yet, but so far all 3 tags match; the 2 tags on the door frame and the title. I'm betting the frame stamp number will match those other 3. The one thing that does baffle me a bit is the wheelbase. It says 99", but its obviously longer than that. However, there is no sign of it being stretched or altered. I'll be adding more and posting when I get it home.
