1967 - 1972 F-100 & Larger F-Series Trucks Discuss the Bumpsides Ford Truck

Looking for help deciding the VIN

I have a truck I found on my brothers property and I’m in the process of removing it from the woods the frame is still solid and axles but the rest isn’t, just looking for help figuring out what his tuck was and engine size as well as transmission type the dealers can’t seem to help me or larger truck shops that run old fords and Louisville’s. thanks the vin is attached in the pictures the tuck has been sitting in the ground since 1976

It is an f500. From the style of the VIN plate, I’m guessing pre 1970.

Do you know where I might be able to uncode the VIN to find out info on the trans and engine and stuff?

C = 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine.

C = Oakville Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.

D09641 = 1968.

174" Wheelbase.

E = Light Blue.

F500, 15000 lbs. GVWR

4 81: 4 = Charcoal Black Crush Vinyl & Charcoal Black Ladder Pattern Vinyl // 81 = 81A Standard Cab.

A = New Process 435 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

62 = Timken model F106N Single Speed Rear Axle / 6.20-1 / 15,000 lbs Axle Capacity.

15,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

164 net HP @ 3,800 RPM

B37362:

B3 = FoMoCo of Canada Ltd. - Atlantic Ford Division, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

7362 = Domestic Special Order number, truck ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."

Cool old truck. I gotta' admit too, I think it's the first time I've seen a valve cover rusted all the way through like that.

Must be some of those "terminator mice" eating metal valve covers! But anything can be saved.

Thanks for your help, i will post updates after truck is removed out of the woods going to need a large tractor or dozer I’m guessing
