Hi everyone, I’m having various issues with my 09 Navigator. I’m the second owner, I bought 2 yrs ago and it has 215,000 miles on it currently.
From day one, it seems to have electrical issues.
For example, the vanity mirror lights didn’t work. I found the fuse burned so I replaced it and the lights worked. Two days later they didn’t work again and the fuse was blown again.
The power lock switch will unlock the doors, but will not lock them.
The exterior buttons on the lift gate glass works(it opens the glass), but the button that controls the lift gate doesn’t work.
And the sound system will occasionally bang really loud and then the radio will be on but no sound. Turn the vehicle off and restart it and the sound is back on.
Has anyone else experienced any of these things? Any suggestions?
It all depends on how proficient you are at doing electrical work.
If you’re like me, and don’t have good electrical skills, it is probably cheaper, better, and quicker to take it to a professional who knows what they're doing and has the experience.
Could be something as “simple” as a bad ground somewhere, or more complicated corroded wiring or connectors or modules.
I have a 2010 navigator and I have the and issue with the door locks. The driver and passenger switch will unlock but not lock. The key fob locks it fine. For me i verified that its not the switch. It is annoying you're right. Good luck.
My problem is with the clicking blend door actuators on my 2010 Navigator. I bought the replacements on Amazon, now just need to dedicate an afternoon to installing them.

The lower one was the hardest. The one in the center on the floor. You can do it but i couldn't get the last screw in. Had to break the old one out of that screw
