2005 Escape Engine Cradle Woes
My 2005 Escape recently had the front crossmember / engine cradle fail, fortunately at low speed.
I was able to locate a replacement engine cradle SKU 6L8Z-5C145-A at a reasonable price [so far so good]. The vendor did not want to ship the part, as a refund would not be available as there was a mid year switch in the part number.
Early 2005 cars used the discontinued crossmember 6L8Z-5C145-AC part.
There is no documentation available about what other than the name of the part changed. [was this a revised replacement? Any mounting points changed?]
Has anyone recently replaced the cradle on their 2005-08 Escape / Mariner / Tribute?
Were there any problems with compatibility, particularly if they have an early production 2005?
Was there a similar mid year change to Mazda labeled trucks?
