I have been having problems with the voltage in my truck. It seems like the voltage at the batteries is fine at 13.4-13.6 volts, but inside the car at the OBD port and the 12v sockets, it is 11.9-12.2volts. It's starting slow (but still starting) however a lot of functions (windows and such) are moving slow and sometimes malfunctioning (like they're not getting enough power). I'm thinking it may be a harness issue or fuse box is corroded or something...BUT I am NOT good with electronics in cars. HELP! Who/Where/What can I do, take it to? I live in Daytona Beach, FL.
Regardless, I will keep y'all updated. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
I would start with new battery cables. Make sure to clean where they attach to the frame, engine block, and starter, as well as the battery terminals. also remove and clean all the body ground wires you can find. Use scotch brite pads, sand paper, or a wire brush. There are some on both fenders, the fire wall, on the engine, and from the frame to the body roughly under the passenger seat.
If you were in Texas I'd have you over and we'd figure it out.
Start by checking the battery cables. The 2002-2005 battery cables tend to last longer than the old lead connectors from 1999-2001. If they're loose I came up with a way to fix them.
I'd also cold soak the batteries and have them tested at Oreilly auto parts. Bad batteries sometimes don't reveal themselves until they cold soak.
