Me too. I don't keep trucks long enough to make the swap worth it.

A lot of things are bass-ackwards on a Super Duty vs the F-150. but it is what it is I suppose.

I came from an F150 too and didn't want to give up the console shifter. But after having a SD for 2 years, I love the extra room in the console with the column shifter. Wouldn't want to go back now.

I too like the column shifter. Frees up lots of room on the console. As mentioned earlier to manual shift it so close to my steering wheel I can shift and put my hand back on the wheel.

I've driven stick-shifts my whole life. I'm old enough to have driven cars with column shifters or triple-trees. Drove my SD for 9 months on the column. Noticed posts of folks swapping for a console shifter, which I prefer. Except for the pain-in-the-wallet, the job wasn't too bad. Surprising how many people are viscerally against this. To each their own.

Nice job. Would that be an upgrade, a downgrade or a sidegrade? I too grew up with three-on-the-tree and various floor-shifters, still got one in my 1990 Miata. So I see the appeal, but since I got used to having the space there in the truck I use it for too many other things. For me, I'm happy with the column shifter.

If I'm not getting a floor shifter I don't want the console at all.

Column shift and bench seat for me.

Besides, my lady likes to ride next to me on the bench, hard to do with a console.

You should start a thread on how you did this. I'm itching to do it to mine, but I can't be my own guinea pig as my truck is my DD. Can't have it down for more than a day.

its just a waste of good console space thst why. I tow and travel a lot and that space taken up by shifter is a waste. Thats all

For you maybe, but not for everyone. Hell, I didn't even have a center console until earlier this year when I installed one. The only thing that cubby holds in my truck is my sunglasses. I'll gladly use another spot to get a console shifter

Curious what would be the cost of installing a console shifter on a 2021 F350? Any warranty void issues? I too am surprised on the push back on this. It is convenient to rest your hand on a console shifter.
What is the cost of a Raptor steering wheel swap which would work well for me also?

Agreed. The only loss of space that I see in jman's conversion compared to my current console is 2 cup holders. And those 2 spots are optional anyway with the sliding gizmo that makes it so I have cupholders on either one side or the other. The rest is minor storage.

These guys sell the harness and all the associated OE parts to complete the conversion as a package. Quite expensive but if you want it, you want it...

I guess I've always just been lucky, because my automatic transmissions always select the gears for me. Once I put it in drive, I don't do anymore selecting or shifting.

I have the console shifter in my 2005 F-150. I really liked it. I wasn't sure how I'd like going back to a column shifter with the SD. But, wow, have I NOT missed that console shifter! I really like the extra space I have. I store lots of stuff in that slot and still have my two cupholders. You couldn't give me a console shifter now.

I suppose if I were using my truck in a commercial setting where I was constantly shifting between R and D, then the console shifter would be nice. But, even when I'm towing, I just don't change my drive modes enough where shifting convenience would ever be a factor.

I think the console shifters look cool. I think the column shifters are much more functional. Nothing wrong with preferring the console shifter, but I'd give the new SD and its column shifter a trial run before converting.

It’s amazing to me how many folks like the console shifter! I wouldn’t ever consider it, column shifters are my favorite. It sounds ridiculous but it doesn’t feel like a truck if it’s not a column shifter to me. But that’s why I love the choices we have on the market ! We can all pick what we like! 👍
