I know there’s bunch of threads on this but I have a couple issues. My driver door was swapped with another truck so I can’t get the axle number. Truck is a 1996 f-350 with a ZF5
at 65 in 5th I’m at 2000 rpm
can anyone give me ideas on what rear end ratio I have? I have 285/75 tires all around so my speedo is slightly off but not much. I think 65 on the speedo is actually like 67 or something like that
You probably have 4.10 judging that I have 3.55 and 305 55 20( 33") I run 2000 rpm at 75mph
One way to check is to mark one of your drums and back plate and pinion yoll to diff housing then turn the yolk by hand and see how many turns it took to do a complete turn om the drum if it turned 3.5 turns you have 3.55 if it took 4.turns 4.10. Pretty accurate in telling what gear you have and a good way to find gear rations on axels.
Yes sir 5 spd. I’ll do that rotation check tho. Someone told me about that a long time ago I couldn’t quite remember how exactly to do it. Thank fellas!
