Lightbulb distributor in the back

Does anyone know what kinda ford engine that they put the dustibutor in the back, i was in the junkyard and found it in a 60's ford truck, the engine is red and on the valve covers it says FORD in big letters molded into it and the distributor was in the back and a 4 barrell carb anyone know what this could be, thanks

Sounds like a "Y" block.

what size engines were they for displacement are they any good to build up or better to leave it where came from, thanks

I didn't even know the distributors were in back! I never payed attention I guess. Never had the chance to work on one.

I rebuilt a 292 out of a '56 Tbird back in auto shop. It's a neat little engine but weighs a ton, not much less than an FE.

Yeah i didnt know ford put a distibutor in the back but i guess they had to make it difficult for us, they darn chevys u can barely even work on the distibutor clear in the back, one thing good about most fords its in the front and easy access...
