Hello all, going to look at a 95 f250 with a 7.3. It has 162,000 miles and comes with a western 7.6 pro plow. I've always heard that ttb 50 axles crack but I'm not sure where. I've tried searching and googling but most photo bucket took down.
Just wondering if anyone has a good picture or a better explanation for me. Thanks
Not really the same but my d44 ttb cracked on the passenger beam, nearer to the beam pivot bushing where it transitions from fully boxed to open. I v-ground the crack, welded it, then plated the beam to box it.
The driver side beam had a crack next to the diff on the backside, where a tab is bent out to tie into the side of the third member. V-ground and welded, no issues since.
I would say check those areas specifically, but give the beams a good inspection everywhere too.
