Replacement light switch
My 97 Lariat has a dimmer switch for autolamps besides the one for dash lights, headlight, fog light etc. Has anyone replaced it with one not having the autolamp dimmer? Are they the same size? Will the plugs fit? Thank you

ok thanks. I just got one fromm a used trucck w/o the autolamp and it is a direct replacement. It didn't fix my problem though-at night the headlights go out. If I turrn on the high beams on the multi-funcction switch and then turn them off the low beams will come back on for a short while but eventually go off again. I guess I need a new multi-function sw or headlight relay? Any suggestions?

Joe Ski, do you only have the headlight problem at night, or is that the only time you use headlights? I use low beams whenever I get on the highway.
On my '01 the headlights would not shut off at times, flicker while on, or not go on without cycling the switch. They would even go on with light switch and ignition in off position.
Replaced the switch, problem solved.
Since you have a used replacement switch, could be your problem.
