OEM Bumper replace or rechrome

Do I buy one for ~$260 rechromed, or new OEM for ~$350 ?
Being a new bumper there’s much less chance of oxidation underneath. But then who knows the quality of OEM chrome?
Which one would the chrome last longer?

If you can get the bumper re-chromed it would be far better than original. The factory chrome isn't very nice.

Or you could jsut get a nice steel bumper and ditch the factory one. I would not have picked the Ranch Hand Legend Series bumper my Excursion came with from a lineup of bumper options, but having it, and working around it as i swapped out grille, headlights, turn signals, etc, it has grown on me, it is so much tougher than the factory bumper, and protects the front of the truck and such from impacts that might occur.

I bought the re chromed front bumper ($260) plus a new valance panel. Had the valance panel coated with Bullet Liner. Next was a new Curt trailer hitch and that was a bi$ch! The factory rivet made the charge from $130 to $260. The next thing is a new rear bumper. The step pad and lower pad will be coated with Bullet Liner too. Then the running boards will be coated with Bullet Liner. Lots of work and lots of $$$. I need to slow down!!

I finally completed replacing both front and rear bumpers with freshly re chromed ones. Had the lower front valence and rear step pads coated with Bullet Liner. Next will be the running boards, I can't wait...
