Slide In Cabover Camper help
I just bought one of lightest slide in campers I could find. It’s a Northern Lite with 1750# dry weight.
I have 94 ext cab F250 w/ 7.3idi, manual trans basically bone stock with no other accessories except for a winch bumper.
I'm for sure over 3200 with the additions I've done and when all tanks are full and loaded with supplies. I haven't been on a scale for many years so I can't remember my gross vehicle weight.
my truck is 93 F250 AP all F350 running gear including overloads...she is as "Safe" as I drive her. E4OD tranny and NA

Wow! That’s some solid weight on your rig. Sounds like your two cents is it’s ok to flirt with payload capacity?
Thanks for the link. Didn’t realize that sub existed I’ll try over there.

I would recommend add a leafs or airbags though if you're going to be doing alot of traveling or just on a frequent basis..
My 85 weights 4,900lbs from the factory according to the title, with all my tools in it, half a tank of fuel and me I clock in at 8,600lbs. I'm at the factory limit but haven't noticed any issues. Over that if i fill both tanks. Tires squat a bit in the back but it handles real well because with the weight the tires actually bite, rarely tries to hydroplane, it'll take me anywhere in 4wd if there's a bottom, if there isn't I don't drive there.
Of course you're gonna be a little more top heavy with that camper, not to mention catch more wind. Just be sure to load anything heavy down low and you'll probably be fine.

EDIT: I realized the quarry by me had a scale. I came in at 6880...
I’ll be just under Payload capacity dry... any thoughts on how safe this setup may be once I add some camping gear? Anyone else running a similar setup?
