Weight

I pull a large 5th wheel camper with my 1997 F-350 dually. My wife and I have family in Pennsacola Beach, Fla. and this is where we most always go. We reside in upstate South Carolina. The state of Fla has a wonderful campground at the very end of the island called Fort Pickens that we always stay at. Only problem is you can only stay 2 wks at a time and limited to 4 wks a year. I bought my truck about 3 years ago from original owner and it has just turned over 100,000 miles. It does a great job pulling the camper , but I need to know some weights. Last time I stopped for fuel at a truck stop I went across scales. The entire rig hooked together weighted 20,080 lbs with both tanks full. The truck stop would not allow me to unhook on the scales to weight the camper by itself. Now I need to know about what the truck weights so I will know what the camper weights by itself. The inspection plate on the camper says 12,000 lbs empty. But it is fully stocked. Would anybody have a pretty close estimate on the weight of my truck? It is a 1997 F-350 dually crew cab. It has the 7.3, dual tanks, and auto trans and very large aftermarket rear step bumper. It also has a onboard air shock system with underhood compressor.

I would, but there are no working scales in this area. There are several truck stops about 60 miles away. One has no scales and the other has them but they are not working.

I have a 96 version on your truck you're probably very similar to me 7580 without me in the truck.

Thank you very much. 7580 sounds about right. Doesn't have to be exact, just need to know ballpark.

That's pretty close. My last camper light weight was 12,000 and when we loaded it up for six month trip is weighted 16K, opps! lol The one I got now is 14K light and gross is 17K.
