Trying to work on my new wiring harness and realized that, a) I can’t find the old horn, and b) I don’t know exactly where it goes. I want to get the wiring where I need it, so I better get one and install it. I think it bolts to the core support, but engine side or grille side? Anyone have a picture they could post? I found this one, https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/tru...riginal-design , appears to be as I remember.
Thanks that helps some, for some reason, I thought it might have been in the engine compartment, didn’t see any telltale holes there. I’ll have to look on the grille side tomorrow when I get out there. I did read in the shop manual standard trucks for 1962 came with just one horn on the passenger side.
'62 standard cab horn and relay (blue box on fender well) stock location. Hope this helps.
Thanks, I’ll look into it today when I get out there. This seems more like a possibility on my truck, but mine is a custom cab. Custom cab really didn’t seem to mean much in ‘62, so I don’t know it really had one horn or 2. From 61-66, small changes between the years that differentiate one from another. My new AAW harness uses a relay (included) under the dash, according to what I have read so far.
At least in 1964 and 1966 (and I believe other years as well) the single horn was standard equipment and the dual horn was option. Nothing to do with Standard or Custom Cab at all.
