So I have a friend at a dealership who is telling me he can make a call to a rep and have my order moved from priority 10 to 01. How much of a difference will this actually make in when it would be picked up and possibly built? I currently have two dealers I'm deciding between on where to order from and one is a couple hundred dollars more but is offering to have the 01 priority code for the order. So just trying to make up my mind if anyone knows this answer. Thanks in advance.
Lots of them change from 10 to 01 on their own. The Regional Scheduler can reprioritize the retail order to priority code “01” which basically forces the Ford scheduling system to schedule the unit ASAP unless extreme commodity restrictions prevent the scheduling. This doesn't necessarily mean it will get built sooner.
Agree with above. I'm not sure I would base my decision on a priority code "promise." From my understanding, only Ford makes the change to the 01 priority code. I can tell you that I ordered a truck on 2/6/20 and it sat with a priority code of 01 for nearly 3 months before production! I'm hoping to receive the truck at the beginning of October! Too many variables when it comes to priority codes and when the truck is actually built. I would base my decision on which dealer I felt was giving me the best overall service and value combined. Maybe the dealer that is slightly more can make it up in accessories, service/warranty plans, etc... just a thought.
One offered $800 under invoice but said he has no control over what priority code his boss orders the truck under, the other offered $500 under invoice and both are offering the same for my trade when the new truck arrives. They also both agreed to match Flood Ford's ESP. So I wasn't sure if having the GM call his Ford rep and change the code when it's ordered mattered at all or if someone had experience getting their truck any quicker because of the difference in priority code. I think we'd all like to have our orders arrive ASAP.
