Door Latch

Has anyone had to work on their door latch mechanisms? I'll post pictures this evening when I get home, but mine broke and I'm trying to figure out how to take it apart so I can do the necessary repairs. It's already out of the truck. I need to remove the spring in the middle of the mechanism and pull off the catch underneath it. Any help or pictures would be appreciated.

....I assumed he was referring to the latch within the door, rather than the striker. Either way, Lewis, let us know. I may have a spare.

Here's what we're looking at. Sorry it took me so long to get pictures. You can see where the latch is worn. If I can get it off I'll just weld the thing and grind it back down to shape, but I'm not sure how to get that round spring off. It is the driver side latch.

Looks like the push button part of the handle is broken as well.. Not sure if I can just weld that back together. I think the button is stainless, so that may be an issue. Glad the door will be able to close now, but I don't like not being able to open it from the outside.

Guess it just took a little persuasion to get it off and then a little filler and grinding to fix it.
