Parking/Emergency Brake Problems
My roommate & I purchased a 1991 Ford XL F-Series Super Duty F-450 2WD 460 gas engine 7.5L truck & are having difficulties finding parts. He allowed his friend (same guy we bought the truck from) to put in a new clutch & that's when things got real ugly. Found out the transmission was put in upside down so parts didn't line up as they should. His buddy didn't ensure there was fluid for the parking/emergency brake so that started to fail. What we've been looking for is the ZF E-brake rebuild kit, parking brake assembly kit and/or the parking brake bearing & seal kit. Preferably ones that are not outrageously priced & don't take a week & a half to arrive. My roommate isn't the most patient & I can't afford to replace the entire unit, even though it would be easiest. There are no local salvage, auto parts stores or dealerships who have the needed parts and I'm hoping someone will have a suggestion for me. We're without transport until it's fixed, no way to make money without it and are looking at a fire which is heading in our direction, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
