I just put on new tires on my 1955 ford f100. I have 255 70 15 on the rear. And 225 70 15 in the front. I think the rims are 15 by7 inch. I thought a lot about this combination. So I thought that others would appreciate a picture of tire combination.
enjoy

That’s what the truck had when I got it a few months before hand. I changed the tires because the tires were 15 years old on the back and 18 years old on the front.
New tires give a very stable ride, but slow/no speed turns are a test of one’s strength with the manual steering (original front single axle, lowered).
Biggest difference In ride improvement came with changing to heavy duty gas shocks.

That's why when the radials needed replaced on my 54 I went back to new bias ply. I can now back into my garage, which is at an angle, steering with my left arm with my right arm on the seat back looking out the back window.
Sorry I was working on my honey do list. My truck is about to make her maiden voyage. But the back and forth and up and down driveway it’s perfect. I am very happy backing it down driveway with power steering it’s like butter. I was thinking about 255 70!15 on front also. But steering with engine off 255 is a little tough. So I decided 225 70 15 for the front. Plus the bigger 70!series takes up wheel well space and makes the truck look cool and old school.
thanks
