I have been searching and searching...here, google, and youtube. I am trying to find out what is needed to upgrade the factory cluster from my XLT platform to a LARIAT. That's it.
I have found everything from custom clusters, to people putting complete interiors from newer trucks into their older models. I just want the Lariat cluster and I'm guessing steering wheel to match.
Are they plug and play? Require OEM coding? Just plain impossible?
Anybody have any links that discuss it? I'll take anything.

It is not plug and play, you need the message center switch as well as the auto dimming mirror and compass to go with it, possibly some wiring..
Just curious, but why do you want the Lariat cluster? If it is for white face gauges you could do what I did and get an overlay graphic. I found them on ebay probably 10 years ago but I'm sure they're still making them. Mine is an XLT.
