9/11/2001 was a life changing day filled with so much loss and devastation. I remember getting the call. My military unit was deployed that early evening to Newark NJ. We are an air assault aviation unit based out of Trenton NJ. Our unit and the F15 unit in Atlantic City NJ got the green light to fly that evening. We supported the FBI in Newark for the next month. I took the aerial pics a few days after. In my 25 years of service I never seen anything that horrible and the loss of life in one day is still overwhelming. Americans from everywhere became ONE! I witness a nation that came together as ONE! My hope is that this day can serve as a reminder that we are Americans and we live in the greatest country in the world and we can rise above the unrest that is happening today. I will never ever forget
Thank you for your service to this great country and for the post. It is important for us to remember that in spite of all of the problems we have here, this is still the greatest country in the world to live in.
