Removing residue from emblem

Hey guys so the ford oval thing fell off the back of my dads 2010 ranger. Going to use 3m trim tape to put it back on. There’s residue from whatever adhesive they used to put it in with. What’s the best method to remove that?

3M makes an adhesive remover........ denatured alcohol will also work well but the 3M is better
