4r70w reverse issues
Hello, I have a 2000 Ford F-150 5.4/4r70w that doesn’t have reverse it just kinda has a low whine and doesn’t engage, all other gears work flawlessly expect reverse, is it possible I spun the reverse band? I had to tow it rear wheels on the ground for about 45 miles because the alternator died, would that potentially cause it? 4x4 still works as do all other gears, what could the issue be?

I'd check the fluid first for color and if it smells burnt. In reverse the reverse band and reverse clutch are applied. The reverse band is also applied in Low 1 and Low 2. Myself, I'd drop the valve body and check the reverse band apply servo for damage.
