hello, i have a 05 e-series econoline with the 4.6. it has 136k on it. so my steering is not sloppy however, as i am driving straight, all the sudden it would pull to the left. like wonder by itself. it does this all the time.
should i try to adjust the steering box?
thank you
so, i put my van in the air . i found driver side wheel bearing bad, also most grease boots are shot. IE: pitman arm grease boot , lower spindle boot both sides, and the steering bar which connects to pitman arm as well. i also found my swaybar end bushing are shot. the passanger side bushing is actually completely out of its hole, and driver side is torn. see images

You DO NOT want to try adjusting the steering box pre-load unless you know what you're doing---you'll cause more problems and/or possible damage to the box.
As you've discovered the steering box isn't the problem---sounds like you're having the beginning of a brake caliper failure---check both front sides for signs of excessive pad wear.

Thanks for feedback.
Why are stating im having beginning issue for caliper?.
I havd brand new pads and rotors. About 1000 miles on them. Wear is even on both sides
Grease coming out of steering joints is normal because those boots don't fit on there very tight, check for play in the joints.. if they are tight they are good. The wheel bearing is likely the cause of your uncontrolled wander and those worn out sway bar bushings need attention of course. Those are "fun" to remove and install, have a look for a recent thread on that here, one member had a good idea for a DIY insertion tool that I used when I did my 06 E250.
If your sway bar bushing are worn, the wheel bearings are going bad, tie rod ball joints starting to feel loose, then you should consider looking at the upper and lower ball joints. These ball joints have to be tested unloaded by raising the wheel off the ground and testing with 3 foot pry bar under the wheel. Here's a good YouTube video.

Typically brake calipers even when "new" are one of the few things to cause the front wheels to pull in one direction. If you've just changed them and this condition is a result its easy to guess the calipers could be at fault.
I have replaced front calipers in 2 vans for pulling to one side because the calipers were sticking. Due to the uneven wear of the brake pads, I replaced those as well. On one van, I replaced a front rotor as the run-out was out of specification.
