Standard or Auto?
Hello all...
In the spring I will be looking for either a new or new/used truck.
I am not sure whether that will be a f-350 or f-250. But it will be 4x4 and at least a SC, maybe a CC.
I plan shortly after getting the truck to get a new Travel Trailer...looking at about 9600#'s loaded and about 31' long.
Question is - how reliable are the auto trannies? Or should I go with a standard? I do not mind driving either or - just want the strongest I can get for the drivetrain.

Unless you go with a new diesel with the new torqueshift tranny, the manual is the best bet for towing heavy loads. The 7.3 with a Suncoast Torque Converter would be another choice for heavy towing if you want an Automatic.
