It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. A PM from my 53-56 Big Job days brought me back. I figured I would pop in and post a little something different.
2000 F-250 CC 4x4 SD. It was a 7.3 6- Speed Lariat trim truck, but I got it with a blown engine. I decided to build something different, definitely unique. It’s now equipped with a mild gas small block, 5-speed, headers, dual exhaust, MSD ignition, and more upgrades on the way. Eventually, the small block will be replaced with the 414 Windsor block stroker engine I’m building.
The engine for now. Eventually it will be replaced with a 414 Stroker. Nothing special. A work in progress.
Exhaust with Flowmaster original 40 series. SBF engine has been cammed with Comp Thumpr, Edelbrock intake and carb for induction, and Hedman headers for exhaust. Exhaust is 2.5” with x-pipe added. MSD 6-al ignition. Russel fittings and hose for fuel delivery.
I have a 99 F350 Super Duty Lariat Supercab V10 2 wheel drive.
If my engine goes bad, would a Coyote engine be a good replacement?
I don’t know. I think that it could probably provide plenty of horsepower, but would probably need some extras to replace the torque of the V-10. I blew my V-10 at around 318K, but I beat the snot out of it, had it chipped, and went 15K plus between oil changes. My current SD doesn’t have any late model stuff in it. It’s a 70s vintage small block with basic performance upgrades.
