just tried to do update on sync 3 (8 inch screen w/nav) in my 19 SD XLT. now it won't work. followed instructions on sync ford owners site on updating, got the update in progress at top of screen, said it completed and now screen is hosed. I did a soft reboot (power + fast forward for 5 seconds) and a battery disconnect for 30 minutes. Still no good. Anyone have any suggestions, aside from dealer visit (which I may have to do)....
this is what the screen looks like now, unresponsive, radio tunes, just have no clue what stations...
Guessing the update got corrupted. Probably a trip to the dealer unless you can somehow try loading it again.
tried that, sort of. copied the update onto the usb drive again and got nothing. no message at top about the system updating. I will try downloading the zip file again, but don't think that will help... thanks
So it boots, you see the initial Ford logo screen and then it goes directly to that same Nav screen and location? You never even briefly see the main Sync 3 screen like CPOBST shared?

exactly H20, the location is correct, and when I drive it follows along.. so the nav works, the rest is jacked up.. did the update yesterday afternoon. it completed and then I shut everything down and went inside. went back out to head to lowes this morning and that is what I have now.
how would I make that happen without leaving key in all night and possible draining battery. truck does not fit in garage...
I’ve got a 2019 Explorer XLT - it does updates via wifi with the truck off somehow. Happened to see a message telling me it was going to do it before I shut the engine off once
Like i said, might be a long shot with your 2019 Superduty.
and we are back. did the reset on the apim, apc. also, for s&g's changed the splash screen back to default. everything is now working. apparently the Ford GT splash does not work with this version, maybe..
