Hey Guys - looking for some information on my caliper.
1973 F250 2WD with dual piston calipers.
The issue is which caliper is needed/required.
It is stamped with Dayton 697103312 with a manufacture date of 3.11.75 - 2 years after truck production, they must have been changed in the mid 70's
The parts manual has stamping numbers and corresponding part numbers, however none of them match what I have, It seems closer to the '76 year not the '73
Those are late 73+ style, the previous ones used pins to hold the pads. Just order the calipers for a 74+ and you are safe. The calipers are universal left or right, the brackets are left and right specific.
@ford390gashog Just confirming, according to what I see the 73/75 use the same dual piston part number D2TZ-2B120-B - is this part number what you are referring to when you say 74+ calipers or should I be looking at something different?
Thanks for your help!
Compare what you have currently, the actual caliper does interchange from early to late. Its the bracket you need to be careful of if you need it. Late style bracket Early style bracket
