Speedi sleeve

‘94 Sterling 10.25

I need help to locate a speedy sleeve for the hub seal. My local Napa seems to be clueless about this part. They have been so good in the past and I will continue to get quality parts from them but I’ve had no luck when it comes to a repair sleeve.

Go back to NAPA and have them look at part number NOS 99339. Should be what you need.

I would do a Scotseal Plus XL #34384 instead of a sleeve.

It appears this part has a seal on both inside diameter AND outside diameter. Is this part used if gear oil is slipping past the seal where the outside of seal contacts the inside of hub? In your opinion, what are the pros n cons between the Scotseal Plus XL and a repair sleeve?

The seal is ID is undersized and will fit very snug on the spindle. The seal no longer rotates on the spindle as all the movement is transferred within the seal. These seals are used in industrial applications because they don't ruin spindles. They also seal far better than a cheap lip seal that was used factory. The problem with a speedi sleeve is finding one that runs true after installation and often the seal lips are forced to accommodate the extra thickness and it puts them at a angle for short term failure.

I appreciate your advice. It has been helpful.

If you go with a Scotseal look online especially on Ebay. The seals are incredibly expensive local and most stores won't stock them.
