71 F600

I have been reading threads for a while and decided to to join as I have a new project, my wife's grandfather's 71 F600 VIN #F61CVK80471 with a dump bed. This truck has been sitting for about 16 years and it is time for it to see some action again. Recently I rebuilt carb and that's all it took to get running. Gas tank is rusted through, front axle is going to need king pins and oh yeah did I mention it has absolutely no brakes. Truck seems sound mechanically and body is in good shape as it has been stored in a building. I have managed to remove front wheels and drums, all wheel cylinders leaking, shoes covered in oil and grease and bearing seals leaking. Entire brake system is most likely going to need to be replaced/rebuilt. Any help in determining what parts this truck has will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Welcome to FTE

Please ask further questions in the LARGE TRUCK forum, most members of this forum have pickups. You'll get more help in the LARGE TRUCK forum, because many members have like trucks.

There are several different sizes of front and rear brakes. Post the AXLE code stamped on the 2nd line-far right of the Warranty Plate, riveted to the left door face below the latch.

F61 = F600 2WD (gas) // C = 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine // V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant // K80471 = 1971.

Thanks for the info, I will head on that direction, axle code on tag you are referring to is E2C.
