A 1/4" ratchet is too small, and a 3/8" is too large. I am not quite sure the diameter of the bolt. 3/8" maybe? I was hoping Someone had used these bed bolts before, and could tell me what tool they had used. I'm told the tool is called a square bit socket. But I don't want to buy a whole set of these sockets, they are like $60.00!

(The new bolts are smaller in diameter than the originals)
You could buy an individual male pipe plug socket on ebay if you know the size you need ,,or just buy a piece of square stock at right size , cut it down an weld a nut on one end and make your own tool , or buy the newer ford bed bolts that use a torx head bolt style
Found a torx bit that fits without slipping. Gonna give it a whirl once I get enough help to put the bed back in place. Bed takes 4 people to lift! You wouldn't think a Torx would fit a square hole, but it does!
