Not being near my truck at the moment,can somebody tell me if the stock tip is clamped or welded on to the exhaust pipe?

I don't think any of the gassers have exhaust tips. It's just a 3.5" tailpipe with no tip. I've seen dealers offer tips, which would be clamp on.

gasser tip is clamped on, I have an XLT with the chrome package and it came right off with some persuasion... unbolted and twisted it off

I just put the exact same tip on to clear the exact same camper tie downs. I'm not really liking the looks of it. I think I'm going to cut the factory pipe back a little so I can slid the tip on farther so it doesn't stick out so far. Did you cut your factory pipe at all?

Another diesel... I did 3 coats of hi-temp primer, followed by 4 coats of black matte hi-temp paint around and inside tips. Time will tell and this winter for durability.
