the stripes are exactly at the same height as the stabilizer attachment on both sides .... doesn't look like it was attached to me afterwards, and I don't see the point either .... could it have something to do with the towing? I've seen in a book that where the stabilizer is, actually a piece of wood is attached when towing.

That line it to defined to be over spray like if the truck was repainted.
I also don't see how paint would get down in there?

With the bumper and everything in place it would be hard to even see that mark.
When you say towing as with a tow truck with a sling, before wheel lifts?
We would do that if the chains would hit something they should not but most of the time the sling if under far enough the J hooks / chains would clear.
I don't see the need for wood blocks on your truck and who cared where they were placed to have marks on the frame?

The sling / J hooks went away because on newer cars with stamped sheet metal lower control arms, when lifting the J hooks would bend the sheet metal control arms.
So either a flat bed or a wheel lift tow truck had to be used.

Sway bars or stabilizers were an option on these trucks. The white lines appear to be aligned with the bushings for the sway bars. Line up marks for the frame extension for the sway bars is my guess.

this seems to me to be the most plausible explanation. Greetings from Germany

It was there to identify tie/bolt down points for shipping. Shipping the bare frame to the assembly plant that is.

Aha. That's great! I'll put the strips back on after blasting and painting.

Probably won't need the stripes. Just blast and paint...you're good!

no, no one needs the stripes, but the truck should be as original as possible.

And here comes the next useless question: when I removed a sticker on the tailgate, I discovered 2 holes, to which the factory label of the company that converted the Ford into a Dually was probably attached. were there many conversion companies for this? which one would be possible? does someone have a photo of such a sign? a buddy has a 3d printer, he could build one for me. Greetings from Germany

Having a hard time getting a point of reference on the photo but some trucks have an Overdrive badge on the tailgate.
Centurion is the biggest conversion company you hear of but not sure about any that just did dually conversions. I always figured those were a kit you bought and either installed or had a body shop install/paint.

ah sorry, the holes are on the top right of the flap. I also thought of Centurion at first, but shouldn't it have a better interior?
this sticker is located in the glove compartment. I don't know if he has anything to do with it

Yeah, Centurion conversions had quite a bit going on. I haven't read up on your truck but am assuming it's a 3/4 ton dually? Like I mentioned about a kit or a shop, I could see a camper sales company installing the duals while adding some bed hooks and whatnot. If you're looking to have an emblem printed, the name of that place sounds like as good of a choice as any to me.

OK. Thank you very much! I don't know if it's a 3/4 toner, but it has a load of over one tone according to German papers. 1985 Ford F250, extendet cab, diesel.
