Early 99 Track Bar Question...

Early 99 Track Bar Question...

I have a 01/99 f350. The bushings in the track bar seem to be shot and I would like to replace them. I've read that I may be better off just upgrading to a late 99 track bar. Before I do that, I'm hoping somebody can tell me whether or not I do indeed have an early 99 track bar. The PO seems to have done some upgrades and I don't want to buy a whole new track bar unless I have to. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok. So it is actually the drag link (I'm new at this). Anyway I'm getting a rattling noise when I hit small bumps and I noticed I can move the drag link bar around at the joint. Should this be a tight connection or should there be play in it?

Looks like the boot is shot maybe the joint too. The 2 bolts should be tight...

Lift the front end up on jack stands have someone slowly turn the wheel (truck running) look for slop and play. Pull on each wheel 12 &6 and 9&3 trying to twist them...the wheel should not move. Pull on each component looking for slop or loose fittings…

Check the pitman arm on both ends for play too.
