I am looking to purchase the Heavy Duty Ford Mud Flaps part #CL3Z-16A550. After looking on the Ford accessories website and speaking with a local dealership I could not determine which mud flaps I needed for a 2017 Super Duty. I narrowed it down to #CL3Z-16A550-S or #CL3Z16A550-P. The "P" model states that it requires brackets, but both say they fit a 2017 super duty and both say they are for the rear. My dealer went ahead and ordered some and if they are incorrect will take them back, but I wanted to see if anyone else had experience with these mud flaps? I have been unable to find any forum posts about them regarding a super duty either, so I haven't been able to see any installation pictures to know what to look for when I pick them up. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
cpobst thanks for the reply. I checked out those and saw what you were saying. I checked with the dealer and that is what he ordered, because he figured front and rear would have a different part number. I should be good to go. If anyone has pictures of these on their trucks I wouldn't mind seeing that as well. I have always preferred the rubber mud flaps over the plastic molded ones, so I am glad to see Ford has this as a reasonably priced option now as well.
I went black. My truck is a black platinum and I felt like the stainless would add too much chrome. I have seen pictures of the Gatorbacks with the stainless plate and the mud flaps really stand out.
SARDiverDan I was always unable to find good pictures of the black plate Gatorbacks as well. Thanks! Those look good. I am hoping these will look similar enough to justify the cost savings. After tax the Gatorbacks were looking like around $450 and the Ford ones will be $160.
I put Duraflaps on my dually with the metal plate on the bottom as an extra weight. They're very stiff and do a great job of keep stuff from kicking at the fifth wheel. Mine are the extra long flaps.
I ended up ordering these with the stainless insert. They came today. Such **** poor instructions!!!
cpobst you aren't kidding. I got them installed today and basically had to figure it out myself. My rear pair instruction manual wasn't even in order. The pages were stapled in a random order. I will post pics when I get a chance.
Yeah mine also say Made in USA. I believe these are actually made by Ford. Ford just has a deal with Gatorback to have Ford branded on their mud flaps. I am pleased with these mud flaps. I think they look good on the truck. I didn't like the drilling but at the same time I won't be removing them so it ultimately doesn't matter. The instructions do recommend an anti corrosive spray so I may get that just to be safe and spray it in the drill holes.
