Alright folks, got a new duraspark dizzy and module for the 351w. (early vintage 90, non-roller) Thing is, can I use this dizzy and just modify the connector, or take this back and get another dizzy with a closer to correct connector
Are you trying to hook that DS-II module in photo 4 to the Ignition on your 1971 F250 or your 83 Cherokee with a 351?
My 1971 had points but they did sell a kit to change it over to electronic ignition.
ok folks, call me stupid, I just realized, this dizzy hase no vac advance, its going back for a correct one.
The vehicle the engine will be going in is a 1983 Jeep Cherokee (last year for the SJ, or large Cherokees) I have a non-roller 351W that I put GT40P heads on. It will be mated to a jeep NP3550 5 speed via a advanced adapters sbf to jeep tranny adapter (this tranny can handle a SBF that is not too highly modified) I have a bellhousing from a full size bronco that had the 351W, external hydraulic clutch slave. At the back of the 5 speed is the original Jeep NP208 that was with the jeep T176 4 speed and 258 6 cyl. The Cherokee did have the 258 straight 6 and engine wiring. I made a 5.0 stroker out of that 4.2L 258 and sold it. I have replaced the 6 cyl engine wiring with wiring from a Grand Wagoneer with a AMC 360 (no way the same as the Ford or Dodge 360) which uses the duraspark ignition system. I will also be using the tfi coil on this ignition.
subford, I know this is a 351w, I did not go 351C because it would not mate to the 5 speed. So would a dizzy from that year have the connector? In the Jeeps, the Duraspark ignition was used up till the last year of the Grand Wagoner, 1990, that is why I was looking at 80's Ford trucks.

The FSJ should also have the module remotely located on the fender. I’m little confused what connector your looking for. You’re looking for a newer OEM 351W distributor that doesn’t have points? Here is one for an ‘88 Crown Vic

There was a wiring harness in between the two with the connectors.

Jeep is the same way since it used the same system. My CJ is set up that way.
