F700 Data tag decide.

Don’t know much about the truck other than it’s a 70s F700 Crew Cab with air brakes. Also has a 2 speed rear. Thanks in advance!

Compare the VIN on this Warranty Plate to the VIN on the registration/title to see if they match. There are several things that when decoded, don't make sense.

F70 = F700 (gas).

F = 391 4V FT engine.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

X46564 = 1975.

176" Wheelbase.

3 = Coral exterior color.

F700 (gas), 19200 lbs. GVWR

A8: A = Seat material/color - Not listed in parts catalog // 8 = 81B Custom Cab.

JL: J = CO emission requirements // L = Transmatic/Allison - model AT 540 Automatic Transmission.

54M:

54 = Rockwell-Timken model H-170 Single Speed Rear Axle / 6.83-1 / 17,500 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

M = Ford 7,000 lbs. Capacity Front Axle with Power Steering.

19,200 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

760011:

76 = Denver CO Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

0011 = Domestic Special Order number, truck ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."

There were no factory F700 Crew Cabs. The GVWR is low for a truck this large. It's possible that Ford sent this truck out after it left the assembly line to have it converted to a crew cab.

The only factory crew cabs were F600's. There's no way to know if the air brakes are original or were added later. No way to know if this Crew Cab is an aftermarket conversion.

Huh. Funny that it shows it being an auto cause it currently has a 5 speed stick in it. The truck is also extremely short compared to the other crew cab sitting next to it. Also struck me as odd that it is 6 lug with air brakes.

it was owned by a rural fire district in its past life and I’m guessing a forest service department before that.

Do the VIN's match? The doors are the same 1973/79 F500/880.

Warranty Plate riveted to the left door below the latch...and what happens is...

People replace damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, people fail to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.

COMPARE the VIN on the Warranty Plate to the VIN on the registration/title...to see if they match.
